Helen Mirren cuts her hair and the story makes headlines. In a new interview with Redbook magazine, Helen Mirren has revealed that she does not have time to go to the beauty salon often, so she cuts her own hair at home.
Most of the time the result is disastrous, but she does not mind. Helen Mirren made other confessions to the publication such as her obsession with eye lash grower and the fact that she will not leave her home without makeup. Helen Mirren also revealed that at 68, she is retiring her bikinis, even though she looked stunning in them.
Helen Mirren is featured in the August issue of Redbook magazine where she explained that she cuts her own her hair most of the time because she visits the beauty parlor only twice a year.
Dame Helen Lydia Mirren also confessed that at the young age of 68, she has decided to stop wearing bikinis when she goes to the beach.
Mirren made several other beauty confessions about her makeup and eyelash that left readers amused.
For countless years now, a rumor has been circulating on the internet about the Press for Time actress, that stated that she dreaded the styling salon and she used to cut her blonde locks by herself.
So when Redbook brought the rumor, Helen made a confession:
“Not always, but yes.I can’t handle going to the hairdresser every six weeks, so I only go about once a year. In between, I get out the scissors and do something, usually rather disastrously. Sometimes I’ll even chop my hair the morning of a big red-carpet event.”
The British lady said she does not have a specific beauty regiment but, she relies on Latisse’s lash-growth serum because it really works and added “if your eyelashes look great, you can let a lot of other things be crap.”
The Oscar winner said that as she ages, she needs to wear less makeup than before.
“I stand back and look in the mirror and it’s awful! So I take it all off because I’ve gotten too anal about it. It’s absolutely true that as you get older, you have to wear less and less makeup.”
The Comfort of Strangers actress broke many hearts by saying that she will no longer be sporting two piece swimsuits on the beach.
