Hartford Marathon 2010 – The Hartford Marathon is one of the most popular marathons in the nation. Jeanette Faber was the winner last year, and was able to win the race again this year, this time five minutes faster than she did last year. Faber is from Somerville, Massachusetts and finished in 2:41:06, easily winning the women’s side of the race.

Michael Wardian of Arlington, VA was able to win his sixth marathon of the year, finishing in just 2:24:38. Pat Tarpy of Providence, RI came in second place, finishing in 2:25:01. He was then followed by Jeff Howley of Providence at 2:25:10. It was a very competitive race on the men’s side.

Unfortunately, the women’s portion of the race was not nearly as competitive with Jeannette Faber easily winning by more than six minutes in this year’s race. In second place was Michelle Lowry of Woodland Hills, Utah. She finished with a final time of 2:47:09. Elleen Combs finished third. Sheis from Schenectady, NY and finished with a time of 2:51:43.

It will be interesting to see if Jeannette Faber is able to win the marathon for the third time in a row next year. If someone on her level does not step up and challenge her, it appears that she will have an easy time beating out the competition next year barring injury.
