A great white shark named Mary Lee was located near the New Jersey coastline this week. Meet Mary Lee, a 16-foot, 3,456-pound adult shark, that is as famous as any D-Listed celebrity.

The white shark has an electronic tag that has been tracking her since 2012, and she is monitored by a non-profit group called OCEARCH.com.

The massive shark has a Twitter account with more than 21.7K followers, and her Facebook page has about 50,000 likes.

OCEARCH expedition leader Chris Fischer, who tagged the animal on September 17, 2012 near Cape Cod, Massachusetts, decided to name her after his mother.

On Thursday, the researchers were happy to announce that around 8 a.m., Mary Lee’s electronic tag “pinged” about 10 miles off the coast of Cape May County between North Wildwood and Stone Harbor off the New Jersey coastline.

At 1:04 p.m., Mary Lee showed up on the radar once more, this time she was located about 12 miles off the New Jersey coast between Avalon and Sea Isle City.

While Mary Lee is swimming near the Jersey shore, the organization was having a field day tweeting what they imagined was on her mind. Mary Lee did not seem happy that she was spotted, so she made it known. She said:

“Just when I surface and the satellite sees me. -:() “

When a follower asked what does she do all week? Her answer was as followed:

“Oh you know, swim, eat, tweet and repeat. Every week is #SharkWeek -:()”

As to what kind of fish she eats, her response was:

“Lots of striped bass and bluefish this time of year. Good eating. -:{}”

Marie Levine, executive director of the Shark Research Institute in Princeton, stated that she believed that Mary Lee was pregnant and was heading closer to shore to give birth. Levine said:

“If she is pregnant, and that’s a big if, it’s a good thing because there is usually a feeding inhibition.”

The shark replied by saying she is not pregnant and added:

“Just because a shark has a full figure you assume she’s preggers?”

During the Q&A, Mary Lee confessed to having 30,000 teeth, she also claimed that she does not wish to appear in Sharknado 3 because they can not afford her, and she is searching for the right male.

In the past few days, according to her Twitter account, Mary Lee has been to Bermuda, the coasts of Delaware and Maryland, and in Chincoteague Bay.

She was asked if she could visit Ireland soon; she said that she would think about it. Some people did not have any questions for the shark, and they were simply happy that she followed them back on Twitter. One person said:

“I love the fact that I can tweet a shark…..best day ever.”

Another happy fan added:

“Coolest thing ever! I followed @MaryLeeShark & she followed me back! Nothing like tweeting with a #GreatWhiteShark!”

One person from New Jersey welcomed her by saying:

“Not since Sandy came to the jersey shore have we heard one woman’s name so much! Welcome @MaryLeeShark We already like you more.”

While another made her an honorary Jersey Girl:

“Welcome to the Jersey Shore @MaryLeeShark #GreatWhite #JerseyShore you’re an honorary #jerseygirl this week.”
