Little Tyler Maddox, might have gotten up to use the restroom and his grandma, 63-year-old Linda Maddox thought he was an intruder and pulled out her gun and shot him on the upper body.

Grandma shoots her grandson because she believed that he was a burglar.

Since 2011 Linda Maddox (pictured above with Tyler and Tyrique), has called the police 11 times thinking that she saw someone or something around her Florida home.

So, it was only normal that she taught she was being burglarized when she heard a noise outside her bedroom door early Tuesday morning.

Just like the 11 previous times, Maddox was wrong, there were no intruders, just her her grandson going to the bathroom.

The grandmother who was watching over her twin grandkids Tyler and Tyrique Maddox, pulled out her .22-caliber revolver, which was near the bed and fired once in the dark.

That is, when the paranoid woman heard her grandson Tyler screaming for help. When the granny turned on the lights she found the child with a bullet wound in his torso bleeding near the door.

Tyler was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he is said to be in critical condition. According to Hillsborough County sheriff’s officials, Mrs Maddox was caring for the kids while her son Reginald L Maddox went to work.

Mr Maddox who works at the US Postal Service often has very early or late shifts.

The Tampa resident said that she is scared when she is at home with the little boys, she puts them to sleep next to her and sticks a chair on the bedroom door.

And of course she keeps a loaded weapon close by. When she heard the chair stumbled at around 1 AM Tuesday morning, she assumed it was some criminal coming to harm her and her family, so she pulled the trigger.

The police say the shooting was an accident and will not be charging the grandma with any crime.

About two hours ago, Tyler’s dad update his Facebook page where he posted a cute baby picture of the injured boy.

Many have flooded to the page to offer the family their prayers.
