Gidget/Gidget, The Little Girl With Big Ideas was originally a book by Frederick Kohner that was published in 1957 tells the real life story of his daughter Kathy (now Kathy Kohner-Zuckerman) of the surf culture of Malibu Point. In 1959 Gidget was turned into a movie starring Sandra Dee.There was also a film called Gidget Goes Hawaiian that was released in 1961 with Deborah Walley in the lead role.Cindy Carol played in Gidget Goes to Rome in 1963.
