Gay Penguins Get Baby Chick – While Canada is non tolerant to homosexual penguins, Communist China is more welcoming to the queer creatures.
Just days after Toronto Zoo officials separated gay penguins Buddy and Pedro, workers at the Harbin Polar Land in northern China have not only accepted male penguin 0310 and 067 to have their love affair, they have given them a baby chick to care for.
Chinese zookeepers first attempted the split the same sex couple but when they realized that penguin 067 was not sleeping and was losing weight drastically, they paired them again.
Just like New York’s Central Park Zoo gay pair Roy and Silo, penguin 0310 and 067 were given the chick because another female penguin was unable to look after it.
Here is a little fact about gay penguins, according to a study published by the Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology in Montpellier, France the animals are not really homosexuals, they simply pair up with each other because they are lonely and need companionship.
