Eye Candy canceled, and fans have taken to social media to voice their anger about the decision. The thriller series starring Victoria Justice was based on a R. L. Stine novel by the same name. It had a young and talented cast, but not enough viewers.

Eye Candy Canceled

MTV’s Eye Candy debuted in January, three months later, and it has already been canceled. The star of the show is the one who broke the cancellation news on Twitter over the weekend. Victoria Justice, 22, made a name for herself on Nickelodeon series – Zoey 101 and Victorious – before starting this new venture earlier this year. Justice shared the following message with her Twitter followers on Saturday:

Hi everyone! I wanted you guys to hear it from me first, that the cast and I received news that Eye Candy will not be returning for season 2. Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart. I couldn’t have asked for better cast mates to work with either. They are the most down to earth, talented and kind souls that I am so happy to have met. Then there’s our show runner @Christiantwit1 who is so awesomely talented and made a show that I am so incredibly proud to be a part of. A very special thank you to Jason Blum and the Blumhouse team, you guys are amazing! Jessica, thanks for all your hard work and dedication to Eye Candy.

Last but definitely not at all least, thank you to the amazing fans. I saw all of your WW trends (it might be 23 or 24 to date) and your unflinching support. It’s because of all of you that I get to do what I love. I am beyond grateful for that. It made me so happy that you embraced the show the way you did. I was so lucky to have you guys along for the ride, because you made it that much more exciting!

As for @Caseydiedrick, @HarveyGuillen, @Kierseyclemons, @fryryCooper & @JohnGaret, I love you all and I’m so excited to see what great things you guys will be doing next. Let’s all grab dinner next week and celebrate a show that we all loved and were so proud to make.

Love to you all,

Eye Candy getting canceled may be hard for fans to accept, but when looking at the ratings, this is not a totally surprising ending for a show that premiered with less than 600,000 viewers. The March finale was watched by about the same amount of people, but in between things went pretty low.

The Eye Candy cancellation was met with a lot of angry reactions on social media. Supporters believe that the show was captivating and deserved a second season. A petition started by an Australian fan has over 15,000 signatures, it demands that the show be saved. Here is a sample of what fans had to say on Twitter.

Eye Candy canceled, so what is next for the show’s main star? Let’s say, she has a bright future in the entertainment industry. Fans of Victoria Justice can see her in June in a comedy called The Outskirts. Justice is also working on an album titled SHAKE! that will be out later this year.

What are your thoughts on Eye Candy being cancelled? Can Victoria Justice become big in the industry?
