Emma Stone’s wardrobe malfunction at the 2015 Oscars has gone viral and the internet just can’t stop talking about the incident. Thankfully, the talented actress was wearing nude underwear and was able to handle the whole thing with a lot of grace and dignity.
An Emma Stone wardrobe malfunction has marked the red carpet of the 2015 Academy Awards. Stone, 26, was making her way through the red carpet after getting her butt grabbed on by Jennifer Aniston. Stone, who was accompanied at the ceremony by her mother, Krista Jean, was able to keep her cool and handle the awkward moment with a lot of tact and class. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actress did not have a particularly good night, she lost the Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category to Patricia Arquette, who went on to deliver a powerful speech about women’s rights and equal pay for equal work.
Despite the wardrobe malfunction and the Oscar loss, Stone kept smiling through the evening and it seems that she had a great time. She was seen talking to people like Julianne Moore at the various after-parties. Fans and reporters were surprised to see the Scottsdale, Arizona native hit the red carpet of such a big event without her boyfriend of almost four years, Andrew Garfield. Additionally, it was one of the biggest nights in her career, so his absence was quite puzzling.
That was enough for the rumor mill to suggest that something bad was happening between the two actors. The chatter could not be further from the truth. Garfield and Stone are doing fine as a couple, he just wanted his lady to be the center of attention for one night and he did not want to get in her way, so he opted to stay home. An insider spoke to Hollywood Life and explained what happened. The source shared:
“Andrew takes things way too seriously and he changed his mind in joining Emma last minute because he told her that he wanted it to be about her. He wanted the night to be about Birdman and just the film and all that surrounds it, not their relationship.”
The insider continued:
“Surprisingly she is actually OK with the decision because she told him that she wasn’t going to win anyways so he shouldn’t worry for her to join. They want to protect their relationship and not be a couple in public so they both decided that it was better off this way during Oscar night. If Emma thought she had a chance to win, then things would be a completely different story, but she let Andrew do his own thing during the Oscars. They have no drama with each other so people shouldn’t think of this as a snub.”

Although Stone lost to Arquette, her movie did pretty well at the ceremony. Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s Birdman took home four awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
