David Duchovny Denies Dating Gillian Anderson: New NBC Show ‘Aquarius’ Starts Tonight

Californication actor David Duchovny denies dating Gillian Anderson and fans all over the world start to cry. After Duchovny and Anderson had been seen sharing a kiss on stage, The X-Files fans assumed that the pair was dating, but that is not the case. However, the good news is that there will be six new episodes of X-Files and the actor’s new series, Aquarius, premieres tonight.

David Duchovny Denies Gillian Anderson

David Duchovny denies dating Gillian Anderson but is happy to kiss her on the lips because that is how he says hello. In a new interview with TVLine, David Duchovny decided to address those pesky rumors flying around claiming that he was dating his X-Files co-star, Gillian Anderson. Duchovny was clear, they are just friends who kiss in a special way. The actor said:

“The whole thing about Gillian and I dating is so weird. It’s never happened, it’s not going to happen, we’re friends. I don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade, but no, it’s not gonna happen. It hasn’t happened.”

The dating rumors started spreading after Anderson stepped on stage with Duchovny as he was performing songs from his new album “Hell or Highwater,” at New York City’s Cutting Room where they shared a kiss. He later added:

“I see Gillian, I kiss her hello. She’s my friend. If somebody gets a picture of that, if it’s on stage and she comes up to sing with me, I’m going to kiss her hello. I wish the show would be enough. I don’t understand why people want more from Gillian and I. I really don’t.”

According to The Inquisitr, the actor does not see marriage in his future. Duchovny divorced his wife of 17 years, actress Tea Leoni in 2014.

Thirteen years after it went off the air, The X-Files will be returning to Fox for six episodes. Here is what he had to say about the reboot:

“You can have Mulder and Scully, and that’s gonna have to be enough.”

The 54-year-old actor had more to say about Sam Hodiak, the character he plays in Aquarius. He stated:

“Hodiak does not see him as murderer, for sure. He sees him as a punk, not even as a worthy adversary. He’s a pimp. He’s a con man. He’s manipulating very young women and young boys. Hodiak knows exactly what Manson is doing and how he’s doing it. It’s not a big mystery. The mystery is going to be what happens in history. That, Hodiak does not see coming. It’s very interesting to me that you have this murder looking on the horizon of the show that is inescapable, and your two ‘heroes’ who are put in charge of making sure that doesn’t happen, aren’t going to be able to do that.”

Duchovny’s NBC drama, Aquarius, will premiere tonight. Critics were not totally impressed by what they saw.
