Diane Sawyer Rumors

Rumors are flying high that Diane Sawyer may be retiring very soon.

According to an article posted in The New York Daily News on Tuesday – Diane Sawyer who took over ABC World News four years ago has apparently decided to end her career because of her ill mother.

An anonymous source who is supposedly close to the reporter told the publication that after 25 years Sawyer has announced to her love ones that she plans to retire at the end of the year in order to be with her mother.

The unnamed source explained:

“She has discussed with a few close friends and some people at ABC that she is seriously considering retiring. She said she’ll be ready to hang it up not long down the road. She loves work and what she does and has endless energy, but she’s overwhelmed with personal problems and she is thinking about leaving to take care of her family.”

As it turned out the story is simply not true according to Jeffrey Schneider who is SVP of ABC News.

Great ! I look forward to ABC replacing her with someone who is not such a morbid downer. She is simply depressing to listen to.
