Diana Ross, 71, pregnant with Michael Jackson’s baby, is the latest silly hoax that is flying around the Internet after pictures of the diva surfaced with excess pounds around her abdomen. A rep for Ross has denied the pregnancy claims.
Could Diana Ross be having a baby at the age of 71? While it is not impossible for a 70-year-old woman to be pregnant, it is not the case for Ross. The former head of The Supremes was spotted earlier this week leaving a grocery store in Los Angeles.
The “All of My Life” artist was casually dressed all in black with a top, cardigan, and tights with her iconic untamed curls blowing in the wind. The pictures went viral and social media lit up with the wild rumors that Ross was expecting her sixth child. The reason some believed the “All of You” singer was expecting is because of her belly, which appeared fuller than usual.
In a brief statement issued by her rep, it was revealed that the pregnancy rumors are “not true.” The actress like most women her age gained weight after menopause, but that can be avoided, according to experts:
The hormonal changes of menopause might make you more likely to gain weight around your abdomen than around your hips and thighs…the weight gain is usually related to aging, as well as lifestyle and genetic factors. For example, muscle mass typically diminishes with age, while fat increases.If you continue to eat as you always have and don’t increase your physical activity, you’re likely to gain weight.To maintain your current weight — let alone lose excess pounds — you might need about 200 fewer calories a day during your 50s than you did during your 30s and 40s. The “Cryin’ My Heart Out for You” diva will surely be getting lots of exercise as she brings back The Essential Diana Ross: Some Memories Never Fade to The Venetian hotel and casino for nine shows in November. The Academy Award nominee had the following to say about the show:

She added:
“I love to sing and perform and every show feels like a celebration. Just like a brand new day or a brand new moment and it’s all about the music and those private and personal memories.”
Twitterverse claimed that Ross is pregnant with Michael Jackson‘s child among other wild theories.
