Deion Branch Trade Talks
Deion Branch Trade Talks – A new trade is brewing stating that the New England Patriots are looking at acquiring their former receiver, whom they traded to the Seattle Seahawks, Deion Branch, several years ago. After the trade involving Randy Moss who just had a big press conference, it is clear that the team will need some help at the receiver position. Moving Wes Welker in as your number one receiver and having Julian Edelman behind him isn’t potent enough to support the passing attack of Tom Brady. Now more than ever the team is looking for new options in the passing game.
At this point, it is just speculation that they are looking to add Branch. He doesn’t have all that much left to give in his NFL career, and has struggled mightily since joining the Seahawks. He was unable to ever regain his Super Bowl MVP form that he displayed on the New England Patriots.
He also has a long history of injuries that have hurt his ability to produce on the field. Now that the Seahawks have brought Marshawn Lynch in to pick up the running attack, they may be looking to dump some of the depth that they have at receiver. Since Branch is not a huge part of their offense, they would likely be willing to part with the aging receiver for a cheap rate, and he would perform better under the direction of Tom Brady. It does appear to be a win-win situation for both teams involved.
