Clive Davis Is Not Gay, Comes Out As Bisexual In New Book
Clive Davis’ new memoir “The Soundtrack of My Life” that was released this week has people talking.
The legendary record executive comes out as a bisexual man in the controversial book that also addresses some of his tense professional relationships with artists like Kelly Clarkson and Whitney Houston.
Mr Davis insists that he is not gay and that he has enjoyed being with both sexes in the course of his adult life. He does admit however that he is currently in a relationship with a man who is not of the music industry.
The 80-year-old explained:
“The adage is that you’re either straight or gay or lying, but that’s not my experience. To call me anything other than bisexual would be inaccurate.”
Clive Davis who has three children got divorced twice, dated a man from 1990 to 2004 and shared that he has been in a “strong monogamous relationship” with another man since 2006.
People fighting for gay rights rapidly embraced Mr Davis’ revelation stating that although female bisexuality is now widely accepted, the same can not be said for men.
They believe that powerful men like Davis can encourage others to be more opened about their sexuality in the future.
