Cheryl Burke Quitting

Cheryl Burke quitting Dancing With the Stars after 18 seasons on the reality show. After 10 years on the dancing competition program, Burke has announced that she is quitting to focus on other projects.

On the eve of the premiere of Dancing With the Stars season 19, Cheryl Burke announced that she is planning to quit.

Burke who has been on DWTS for 18 of the 19 seasons appeared on Good Morning America where she revealed:

“As of now, this is probably going to be my last season.”

After 10 years on the dancing competition show, it appears that the veteran dancer is interested in doing new projects:

“I started when I’m 20. I’m 30. I want to try new things and just see what’s out there.”

Burke joined the hit show in early 2006, during Season 2 and was able to win the Mirrorball trophy that same year with singer-actor Drew Lachey.

She was the first female pro to win the competition. At the end of 2006 during Dancing With the Stars‘ third season, Burke and partner Emmitt Smith were crowned champions.

So what are Cheryl Burke’s plans after hanging up her dancing shoes?

Well, she did not say, but two years ago she was hoping to land on another reality show on ABC. Burke is secretly eyeing a spot on The Bachelorette.

And like Julianne Hough, Cheryl would be glad to join the judges panel. Some people say Burke could become a motivational speaker on body related issues, she always had to deal with those in her career.

Cheryl Burke is hoping to leave on a bang by winning this season’s contest with Calvin Klein underwear model and soap opera star Antonio Sabato Jr.

Burke has been actively promoting herself and Sabato on social media and asking fans to vote for them.

Many thought that Sabato and Burke would be eliminated this evening, but instead Olympian Lolo Jones and Keo Motsepe were sent home.

  1. I’ve been a fan of DWTS since it started & watch every season. My best dancer of the woman has been Cheryl Burke. And of the men Maks Chermovsky. Now he left & if she leaves the show will definitely not be the same. There’s a couple more dancer’s that I like. But they are tops in my opinion.

  2. It will be a sad day to not see the beautiful and talented Cheryl Burke on DWTS. I will miss her, but can only hope she will come back to make guest appearances as a dancer and perhaps as a Judge.
