Cee Lo Green Show Canceled: TBS Dumps ‘The Good Life’ After Rape Comments

Cee Lo Sorry TBS

Cee Lo is sorry, but TBS does not want to hear about it. The network has canceled Cee Lo Green’s unscripted series The Good Life after the “Crazy” singer made some controversial remarks on rape via Twitter.

An apologetic Cee Lo Green took to Twitter on Tuesday to chastise comments he delivered about rape few days ago.

The “Cry Baby” singer got himself in trouble on Sunday, after trying to give his definition of rape on Twitter.

The “Fuck You” artist went on a rant after Twitter users attacked him over a no contest plea he took in an ecstasy case. Green who is 39 was accused in 2012 of giving MDMA to a woman without her knowledge in Los Angeles.

The singer’s lawyer claims that the sexual relation that took place after the dinner was consensual. The woman stated that she could not remember what occurred after the restaurant but found herself in bed next to Cee Lo when she woke up.

A former coach on NBC’s The Voice, Green lost his job after the allegations surfaced. Officially, he left on his own terms to pursue other business ventures.

Cee Lo landed a reality show on TBS in June called CeeLo Green’s The Good Life. The show got canned on Tuesday, one day after the controversial tweets and the ensuing backlash.

TBS claims that the cancellation had nothing to do with the rape remarks, yet it made the announcement just three hours after women’s rights group UltraViolet started a petition demanding that Green be fired. TBS ignored Cee Lo’s apology and decided to end the collaboration.

Some people were dismayed by Mr Green’s latest apology, they have the impression it was written by a PR team doing damage control. To make matters worse, the part that says, “comments attributed to me on Twitter,” seems a little bit confusing.

Cee Lo says he is sorry, should he be forgiven?

  1. I stopped watching THE VOICE when he was a judge and starting wearing Navy pilots wings, various military medals, and other military insignia as bling on his shirts that he had no right to do. These are items that are EARNED and not be worn by someone who is not even a veteran. He disrespected veterans and all they did for this country.
