Caitlyn Jenner feels a sense of responsibility towards the LGBT community, especially trans women. Since coming out as a transgender woman, the former Olympian known as Bruce Jenner, who has transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner, has been keeping a low profile.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was spotted on few outings with friends, appearing at a Gay Pride Parade and filming her new reality series, I Am Cait.

Miss Jenner took to social media on few occasions to celebrate the supreme court’s decision to legalize gay marriage in the United States and to encourage other trans people.

On Monday, Caitlyn Jenner launched her official blog where she shared the picture of herself dining with a group of pals. Accompanying the photo, is a very touching post about the people, who have been helping her with the transition. Caitlyn Jenner, who is expected to make millions as a public speaker, wrote:

“Hi everyone. Caitlyn here. First of all, I want to thank you all for your support. The response to my new journey has been overwhelmingly positive and I’m eternally grateful for all of your sweet messages, letters, and gifts.”

Miss Jenner went on to confess that as a public figure, who has an impressive platform to express herself, she feels that she has the responsibility to help, and be the voice of trans women, who are victims of sexual violence and teens, who are bullied over their sexual orientation. Jenner shared:

“Up until now, I have totally isolated myself from the transgender community so I have a lot of catching up to do. I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story. To me, that’s always the biggest question: am I doing it right?”

The activist went on to reveal how these strong women have been inspiring her on her journey. She confessed:

“A few weeks ago I had dinner with some of my new friends — a group of six trans women — and I went around the table and asked each of them how long it had been since their transitions. One said 20 years, the other one said 15 years ago…seven years ago…three years ago… They came around to me and I said, “Two weeks.”

Flash forward a few weeks and I’ve already learned so much about this community, the issues, and the people involved. It’s been an eye-opening experience for me — mainly realizing how fortunate I am.”

I Am Cait is set to premiere on July 26 at 8 p.m. on E!
