Bully fire starter faces manslaughter charges. Freddie Alexander Smoke III, who accidentally started the Bully Fire in Shasta County, California has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, after policed discovered the body of a man by the name of Jesus Arellano Garcia who was trying to escape the blaze. On July 11th, Smoke who was delivering supplies in his truck to his illegal marijuana farm had an accident and the vehicle’s exhaust system started the Bully Fire that destroyed thousands of acres and injured 21 people.
The Platina and Bully Choop Mountain Fire suspect named Freddie Alexander Smoke III has been hit with involuntary manslaughter charges by prosecutors in Northern California.
The new charges came after CAL FIRE discovered a body in Bully Choop Mountain, they believe to be a victim of the wildfire that was started by the pot grower on July 11th.
California authorities found the the remains of a man seriously burned, near a home located somewhere between Platina and Bully Choop roads.
The charcoal like body of 38-year-old Jesus Arellano Garcia was discovered on July 16th.
The team from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection investigating the human-caused wildfire said that Garcia was trying to flee the flames.
The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office revealed that it plans to arrest Smoke III who is out on bail.
According to the police Mr Smoke, who is from Sacramento was delivering soil additives to his illegal cannabis farm in the Bully Choop Mountain, when his truck drove off Roaring Creek and Sargent roads into a ditch.
The truck’s exhaust system ignited a small fire on the dry grass, which rapidly grew into a hellish nightmare for residents in the area.
The wildfire burned through over 12,661-acre of land during one week.
The Bully Fire left 21 Southern Californians injured, and killed one person.
The horrible disaster destroyed 50 homes including the one that belonged to Mr Jesus Arellano Garcia and 6 buildings.
The 37-year-old father-of-two was arrested the same day of the fire, charged with illegally cultivating marijuana and accidentally starting a fire.
He was rapidly released from the Shasta County jail on a $10,000 bail.
The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office says it has issued a felony arrest warrant for Smoke and wants anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the police.
Smoke’s bail has been set at $1 million and he is set to appear in court on August 22.
The manslaughter charges against the Bully Fire suspect may lead to a long jail term.
