      I am so very frustrated with trying to follow the instructions to up-date the password on my Blackberry. I have been trying for 1/2 hour and can’t find the email accounts page to follow the steps outlined on my phone. Why is it so difficult to do and why do I have to update the password so often?????         1. On the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site, in the left pane, click Email Accounts.
        2. Click the Edit icon beside an email address.
        3. Delete the existing password.
        4. Type the new password.
        5. Click Save.

        I too can’t find the right web page. I have the instructions but there is no left pane for email accounts to edit!!! Has anybody found this I can’t get email on my phone!!!!!! HELP!!

      Same issue !! Why cant they just mention the website address where they want us to change the password. ? I think this would make it easy for all of us to do the necessary actions required.

      Hello everyone!! I had the same problem…. My husband also has had it and here is what he told me to do…… take your battery out of your phone (I know odd but it works). Put it back in, on your phone menu go to Set up Internet E-mail (envelope with the cog wheel), go to email address click on validate, re-enter your password and save or update whichever it is and you should be good to go!!!

      Frustrated!! While trying to install Microsoft Outlook, I inadvertently caused a reset to my password. I am unable to receive e-mail on my blackberry. I want to edit my password account. I have followed your directions that you sent me and am unable to find where to do this. When I tried to change password, you sent me the new password on my blackberry but it didn’t come through. I have performed the follwoing.

      Worst service in the world. I have never dealt with anything so illogical and in the end, impossible. I just needed to change my password on an existing account. What the hell…..

      How do I stop the updating of my password so often. Every bloody week, have to go through the process of updating and most of the time it takes several tries before it accepts. I dont mind updating but can it be monthly????? Please help. Thanks

      i wasent able to get emails i was told i had to validate my pass word so i went to setup and then to email and put in my pass word. i was told wrong pass word.so here is a trick i learned years ago it works for most cell phone. just take out the battery for one minute and put it back. i did this and went back to setup on my blackberry then to email the pass word worked this time and i was able to valadate im reciving emails again. i hope this helped some one

      I too have the same problem about changing of password for our email. vikingimplements@gmail.com.We changed the password for this mail , so mails were not coming on my blackberry phone. I was instructed to go to blackberry internet services website. There is no left pane on this sight , hence no possibility of going to email account. Following the phone intructions, in the set up section they keep asking me get registered whereas registration was complete yesterday only.
      What Next ?

      I received an e-mail that said that my e-mail was not being delivered and that I needed to change my password. I followed the instructions but cannot get on to the web site because it keeps telling me that my user name or password is wrong. So I clicked for you to send me the password and a message came back that it had been sent to my blackberry. I did not get it because my e-mail is not being delivered. So I tried to get on to the web site from my computer. Still get the message that my user name or password is wrong. How do I change the password when I can’t get on the site?

      Wow, I thought for a minute there that I had a very simple task to perform. No problem. I just found my BB box (I’m surprised that it only took 15 min) that has the instructions, how to remove the battery. I’m quite certain that I have nullified any warranty on my phone by using my pocket knife to attempt to open it w/o success (15 minutes. I have damage. I found this site after spending 30 time trying to change my password. Now, one damaged cell, and an hour of not-so-fun Saturday morning I’m going to fix another cup of coffee and pursue a new career, at BB expense, to bridge-the-gap (manufacturer/user) while reading instructrions “how to remove the battery”.

      I found it,
      1)Turn your BB on
      2) Access menu icons (button between cell on button and select button)
      3) Find Setup icon and open
      4) Scroll to E-Mail Settings icon and click
      5) Select “edit”
      6) Erase/ “DELETE (using button on your cell) ************ in Password box and
      7) Type in new password and click save
      Your next screen should say Email account successfully updated (even as your cell announces that you have mail. Happy Trails, hey, how about some Saturday morning cartoons and answer emails w/ that pot of coffee.

        Deep felt thanks to Michael of 16 October, 2010. Honestly, I was beginning to think I was all alone in the world. Trying to follow the Blackberry on screen instructions to validate my password (don’t know why I had to anyway} had me almost apoplectic with rage and frustration. Then I saw your letter and I followed your instruction. It was done in about two minutes.

        I have tried Michael’s solution several times to no avail. Once I go to the email section of set up it immediately goes to Existing Users and asks me to log in with user name and password, which of course, it wont accept. I am not getting the option to edit and/or erase and update the password. I am tearing my hair out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      I have lost my connection to receive my PC email on my Blackberry. This has not happened before. I received an e-mail to update my password on the existing account. I cannot seem to locate the edit e-mail account and find out what my user name and password actually are so that I can continue with the process.

        I have lost the connection with my e.mail? Got sent a message to update my e.mail & password, tried several times? Each time got the same reply. Name not recognised? Asked for my password, it tells me this has been sent to my Phone?? Still Waiting??

      WTF? Even more frustrating than the last time I had to redo something at Backberry’s command.

      before i can do that…………………………..before jan 24 2011 i still could receive d email but i can not use ym…
      then i change my pass word…cos it is written ..its always wrong….
      but i can open it in pc……..

      I don’t get it, nothing is working, I have not been able to get any emails for 3 weeks!!! I take out the battery, put it back in go to email settings and there is not a validate option. it asks me to put in my user name and password. I do both, click on log in and it tells me my user name is blank and it is not! I have a 8530 smartphone

      same problem as everyone above me…..at least 5hrs of my life wasted….Michell instructions above do not work for me cause email settings takes me direct to user name which no longer works. Had password sent to me…wtf…my password is password…whats going on????

      I am also very irritated as the emails on my Gmail account is not comming through and the suggestions offered on the web site is rubbish as I am unable to locate ” email account” on the left plane …wherever that is!!!
      I have been asked to change my password and just not been able to do the same for the last 2 hrs.

      I have tried to gain access to the Blackberry website to change my password on one of my e-mail accounts.
      Firstly I cant find the site or the e-mail accounts page.
      I have attempted the same on my phone but cant even get to my e-mails page to make the change because I need my BIS user name and password which I have forgotten!
      I have been looking for hours on the phone and the web to try and get my user name and password changed , even sent details to Blackberry to no avail.
      I have been with Blackberry for four years but will be moving on when I next change my phone.

        This is a real sucker and the directions aren’t worth $#*!. Here’s the easy way around it which took me about 5 minutes to complete after screwing around with that “click the setup icon” and the nonsense about click email accounts which you’ll never find. Instead, after you click the setup icon, click the setup wizard and then Email Setup. After that go with “I want to create or add an email address.” It’ll take you through the steps including associating a new password to your old email address or a new one. Might take one or two tries before the system accepts it.

      My husband changed the password on my email acct and now I am not receiving my emails on my phone. My password for my phone evidently was changed at some point and when I hit the “foragot password” button, it sends it to my phone which I can’t retrieve. It is a vicious circle and I am about ready to throw this phone in the trash!
