ABC Family’s ‘Baby Daddy’ Renewed For 5th Season

ABC’s Baby Daddy gets renewed and fans are rejoicing. In a statement issued by the alphabet network, it was revealed that the comedy Baby Daddy starring Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Tahj Mowry, Chelsea Kane, Melissa Peterman and Derek Theler has been picked for a 5th season – even before the 4th season wraps up.

ABC’s Baby Daddy got renewed for at least one more season. Fans of the hit ABC Family comedy Baby Daddy will be happy to learn that it has been renewed for a 5th season.

Baby Daddy stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, along with Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane. The Dan Berendsen-created sitcom focuses on a twenty-something-year-old New Yorker named Ben, (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), who gets a big surprise when a one-night stand leaves their baby girl Emma, (played by twins Kayleigh Harris & Sura Harris), on his doorstep.

Ben’s life is turned upside down as he struggles to raise a one-year-old child with the help of his brother, Danny (Derek Theler), close friends – Tucker and Riley (Chelsea Kane and Tahj Mowry) – and his mother, Bonnie, (Melissa Peterman).

The series also deals with the complicated relationship between Ben and his childhood friend, Riley, who has been in love with him forever. ABC Family’s Executive Vice President, Programming & Development, Karey Burke, issued the following statement on the renewal of Baby Daddy:

“Comedy is an important part of ABC Family’s make-up. We’re excited to see where Dan (Berendsen, Creator/Executive Producer) takes these lovable characters and look forward to more great comedy from the cast.”

Season 4 of Baby Daddy is currently being broadcast on the network and is averaging a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 770,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Despite the fact that viewership slipped compared to the third season, Baby Daddy ranks as cable TV’s No. 1 series on Wednesdays at 8:30 PM in Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Females 12-34 .

The audience measurement system stated that show is the No. 1 original cable TV telecast in Women 18-49 (616,000/1.0 ).
