Alicia Keys National Anthem Rendition At Super Bowl 2013 Gets Mixed Reactions
Wearing a red mermaid dress, with her hair slick back Alicia Keys sat down in front of a white Yahama piano and performed a very jazzy version of the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVII which is currently taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana where the Baltimore Ravens are leading the San Francisco 49ers 31-29 (the 49ers will win!!!).
The R&B singer who knew that the world was watching her after the Beyonce lip synching inauguration fiasco sang live – she delivered a mellow rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” and broke down the last notes.
Some of the 110 million people watching the game took to Twitter to slam the performance.
Many found that Alicia Keys’ National Anthem slow, boring like she was singing at a funeral and others dissed her for making the song about her instead of the country.
