Alabama Couple Names Baby Crimson Tide

This is not the first time and it is certainly not the last time, but an Alabama couple has decided to name their baby boy — drum roll please — Krimson Tyde.

The proud parents Summer and Steven Steele who are obviously die hard fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide wrote to the Andalusia Star News to make the birth announcement.

The baby boy whose full name is Krimson Tyde Steele was born at the Andalusia Regional Hospital on December 17th, 2013.

Krimson Tyde Steele weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

As stated above this is not the first time parents assumed that Crimson was the perfect name for a Bama baby.

In 2010 a couple picked the name Crimson Tide Redd for their bundle of joy.

While their relatives were thrilled with the name, the pair was criticized for choosing to name their new born after a football team.

Some people blasted the the Redds because they deemed the name is ugly while others believe the child will resent them for having to carry such a name all of her life.

Krimson Tyde Steele’s parents Summer and Steven were surprised by the negative reactions that came their way for picking the name.

Summer a mother of three told

“I’m very shocked, I didn’t think people would make a very big deal about it.”

She also added:

“To people speaking negatively about us naming him Krimson, it’s not their child nor family member so if they have nothing nice to say they don’t need to say nothing at all.”

What are your thoughts on naming a child Krimson Tyde?
