A 98-year-old woman is being evicted from the place she has called home for the past 50 years, the heartbreaking story story is making headlines.

In 2012, a firm called Urban Green Investments purchased a building located in Dolores Street in San Francisco where many low income families and seniors live.

Using the California Ellis Act, UGI was able to evict many of the tenants in order to sell the property for millions.

But one woman who was served with an eviction noticed two years ago lawyered up and is fighting back.

That woman is 98-year-old Mary Phillips who spoke to the media saying that she is too old to move to a new home, furthermore she has no place to go.

She has lived in Dolores for the past 50 years and has never been late with her rent.

The rebellious woman says she is determined to stay in her apartment and the only way they will get her out is feet first.

The charming old lady said that she knows that the people who run UGI have hearts, they have senior citizens in their lives and will not go as far as throwing her in the streets.

Hope that Mary Phillips has a very good attorney because Urban Green has been successful at evicting her neighbor and caretaker 40 year-old Sarah Brandt.

For several days a group of protestors who are members of Vanishingsf have been camping in front of the offices of Urban Green Investments passing out fliers that explain what is happening to the 98-year-old woman.

Vanishingsf asked that you call Urban Green CEO David McCloskey at (415) 651-4441 and tell him to leave Mary Phillips in her home.

  1. The love of money will make you heartless. How can a person have a heart to do our elderly this way. Let them cherish which maybe a little time left anyways to enjoy what they love. Mr David McCloskey you may live to get old one day, consider yourself or think about your mother or grandmother would you do them this way? Shame on you if you did. You will reap what you sow.
