While the media has been mainly focusing on the record-shattering $1.4 billion jackpot that is still growing, a little digging revealed that 67 players were able to get five correct numbers without the Powerball and become millionaires.

On Wednesday, one person will become a billionaire by winning the $1.4 billion Powerball jackpot that has sent the nation into a frenzy, but as the game was ballooning it was making millionaires. The astronomical amount of $1.4 billion, (the jackpot is rumored to hit $2 billion in 24 hours), has been building up since November 7 – which means no one has been able to have all five winning numbers plus the Powerball for 19 drawings. However, all of those, (who might feel a bit frustrated for missing out on a billion dollars), who were able to match all five numbers claimed $1 million.
From November 7 to January 9, 67 millionaires have been made playing the Powerball across America – with most of them living on the East Coast. This is how the 67 millionaires break down – 59 of them won $1 million and eight collected $2 million. Expect many of these millionaires to invest some of their winnings on Wednesday’s drawing.
