Three wrestlers died in a plane crash along with the pilot. Four students were killed in a plane crash on Monday night in Ohio. Three of them were wrestlers from the Case Western Reserve University. William Felten, John Hill, Abraham Pishevar and Lucas Marcelli were all killed in the fiery plane crash.
On Monday night four friends, among them three college wrestlers, were killed after the small plane they were riding in crashed near Willoughby Hills in Lake County, Ohio.
William Felten, John Hill, Abraham Pishevar and Lucas Marcelli had rented the 1999 four-seat aircraft for four hours in order to fly over Cleavland and see the city at night.
Marcelli, Pishevar and Hill, were wrestlers from Case Western Reserve University. The Cessna 172R plane burst into flames just minutes after taking off from the Cuyahoga County Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the deadly plane crash.
According to several eyewitnesses, the plane’s motor was making weird noises as soon as it took off.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that minutes after the aircraft left the ground, the pilot, 20-year-old William Michael Felten asked permission to land due to some kind of technical difficulty.
Felten of Saginaw, Michigan obtained his pilot’s license in August 2013.
Many who saw what they described as “a fireball falling from the sky” ran towards it to help but in vain.
The blazing fire and explosions kept good Samaritans, who left their homes and cars to rescue the young men who were trapped in the plane, away and unable to provide assistance.
Felten was a pre-med student and music prodigy, he was also a member of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity along with Marcelli .
Hill, 18, from St. Simons, Georgia was a member of the wrestling team at The Hill School for three years.
According to his coach, he was dedicated and hard working and became one of the best fighters from the school over that period.
Pishevar was from Washington, D.C. and was planning to become an engineer. The 18-year-old was a wrestler for the Spartans for two years.
As for Marcelli, he was from Massillon, Ohio. The 20-year-old was a wrestler at Jackson High School, who won several titles and was working hard on becoming a orthopedic surgeon.
Such horrible news…condolences to their families. They all look like really good kids with bright futures ahead. Very sad.
sad thing that happen , being a pilot we never think that the plane will burst in flames but I guess it does happen , I am so sorry for the loss of these fine young men. god bless their souls . rip
